IDEATION at EU Ocean Days 2026: A Milestone for Digital Water and Mission Lakes

This week in Brussels, the 4th Annual Mission Forum provided a powerful stage for the future of Europe’s waters. As part of #EUOceanDays, IDEATION played a dual role: contributing to strategic policy dialogues and showcasing practical solutions alongside our Mission partners.

The Strategic View: Moving from Research to Market
The momentum began with our Project Coordinator, Eloisa Vargiu, who was a featured panelist at the “Stakeholder Consultation on Water Resilience Research and Innovation Strategy.” Addressing the challenge of boosting the uptake of emerging innovative solutions, Eloisa identified three essential pillars for success:

  1. Data Usability: It’s not just about having data; it’s about making it actionable.
  2. User-Centric Design: Providing support tools that empower end-users without over-complicating their workflows.
  3. Long-term Sustainability: Solving the challenge of maintaining market presence once a project officially concludes.

The Exhibition: The Power of the MissionLakes Alliance
Following the panel, the focus shifted to the exhibition floor, where IDEATION stood proud as an official exhibitor. We were honored to share this space with our fellow #MissionLakes projects: FutureLakes, FERRO, ProCleanLakes, and EUROLakes.

The synergy between these five projects drew hundreds of participants to our booth. Our coordinators, Eloisa and Serena, welcomed visitors who were eager to play our interactive games and explore the digital tools we are developing to protect inland waters. The high level of engagement from policymakers, utilities, and technology providers confirms that the demand for integrated water management is stronger than ever.

What’s Next?
This collaborative spirit is exactly what we will bring to Water Market Europe 2026 on April 16th. We invite you to join us as we continue to translate these strategic insights into market action.
