CETaqua, Water Technology Center
CETaqua, Centro Tecnológico del Agua, is a private non-profit foundation that was created in 2007 by Aigües de Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). It is a model of public-private collaboration that ensures the sustainability and efficiency of the integral water cycle, considering local needs. CETaqua represents a pioneering model of collaboration between the administration, the university, and the company. This model has established itself as a European benchmark in the application of scientific knowledge to water and the environment. Their mission is to anticipate the needs of society to propose new R+D+i solutions to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the water cycle, considering local needs. The activity of the centre is divided into five areas: Efficient, safe and digital operation; Production and new resources; Zero waste and decarbonisation; Territorial and social sustainability; and Resource planning and management.

KWR Water Research Institute is a private non-profit organization generating scientific knowledge and innovations for the water sector. KWR researchers operate at the interface of science, business and society, excelling in translating scientific findings into practical solutions for the global water sector. The institute plays a key role in both national and international collaborations, with a strong track record in EU projects . Domestically, KWR has been managing the Joint Research Programme with Dutch and Flemish water utilities for over 40 years, and coordinates and contributes to the National Water Technology research program. An active member of various water research partnerships, KWR leads Watershare—an international knowledge-sharing network of water research institutes and utilities—and is knowledge partner in Allied Waters, a public-private partnership focused on commercializing water innovations.

CERTH is founded in 2000 and it is listed among the TOP-20 EU research institutions with the highest participation in competitive research grants. CERTH consists of five institutes: (a) Chemical Process & Energy Resources Institute (CPERI), (b) Information Technologies Institute (ITI), (c) Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT), (d) Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB), (e) Institute for Research and Technology Thessaly (IRETETH).
CERTH participates in the IDEATION through the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) and Multimodal Data Fusion and Analytics Group (M4D) which is part of Multimedia Knowledge and Social Data Analytics Laboratory (MKLab). M4D has significant security research experience and scientific expertise in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, machine/deep learning, computer & cognitive vision, semantic multimedia analysis, visual analytics and decision support systems, knowledge discovery of heterogeneous multilingual and multimedia Web resources, social media monitoring, as well as on the processing, analysis of the multimodal data extracted from them.
