IDEATION EU Project Advances Digital Twin for Inland Water Systems at 3rd Consortium Meeting Hosted by KIOS CoE in Cyprus

The IDEATION Project successfully concluded its 3rd Project Board Meeting on June 5-6, 2024. The meeting was hosted by the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (KIOS CoE) at its headquarters in Nicosia, bringing together partners from across Europe to align on progress and strategise future developments.

The two-day meeting was a critical juncture for the project, focusing on the integration of recent achievements into the overarching project roadmap. Key discussions centered on advancing the IDEATION Reference Architecture, which forms the foundational framework for the project’s digital solutions. Partners presented significant updates on Reference Use Cases, incorporating findings from Multi-Stakeholder Forum activities and specific analyses on coastal water policies and challenges.

A major highlight was the status update and live demonstration of the Open Knowledge Inventory for Inland Water Systems (OpenKIWAS), a key technological component led by the host institution, KIOS CoE. OpenKIWAS is designed to be a comprehensive repository of knowledge crucial for smart water management.

In addition to technical sessions, attendees were given a tour of KIOS CoE’s state-of-the-art research infrastructure. The tour provided partners with firsthand insights into the cutting-edge work being done to develop next-generation, smart, and resilient water management systems, reinforcing the practical application and impact of the IDEATION project.
