The IDEATION project proudly supports the recently published Water Resilience Strategy (WRS) by Water Europe, which outlines a roadmap for securing Europe’s water resources through digitalization, cross-sector collaboration, and innovative technologies. As water scarcity threatens 38% of the EU population and critical industries, the IDEATION project plays a key role in developing digital solutions for sustainable water management.

A Digital Twin for Europe’s Water Security

The IDEATION project is at the forefront of water digitalization, working to create a Digital Twin of inland waters that links rivers, lakes, and wetlands with the Digital Twin Ocean. This technology will enable:

• Real-time water monitoring and forecasting to enhance resilience.
• Data-driven decision-making for policymakers, industries, and water utilities.
• Cross-border collaboration for transnational water governance.

A Call for a Water-Smart Europe

The Water Resilience Strategy stresses the importance of digital interoperability and inclusive governance. With 29% of the EU’s territory facing water scarcity and water demand expected to triple by 2030, the IDEATION project aligns with the WRS recommendations by:
