FIWARE Partners Showcase IDEATION Roadmap at Global Summit in Morocco
The IDEATION project was prominently featured at the recent FIWARE Global Summit held in Rabat, Morocco. Angeles Tejado from FIWARE presented the project’s vision and progress during the insightful session titled “Blue Cities of Tomorrow: AI & IoT for Smart Water and Resilient Cities.”
The presentation highlighted IDEATION’s crucial work in developing a strategic roadmap for a Digital Twin encompassing all inland water bodies. This involves actively engaging key stakeholders to gather essential requirements and feedback on diverse water types – from snow and ice, rivers, and estuaries, to lakes, wetlands, reservoirs, groundwater, and even coastal and urban waters. The ultimate goal is to ensure these varied systems are digitally represented, interconnected, and fully interoperable with the future European Digital Twin Ocean (EDITO).
IDEATION is mapping the way to model the entire hydrosphere – A unified digital representation of our water systems can transform environmental management, climate adaptation, policymaking, and emergency response. IDEATION is focused on identifying the necessary activities, standards, and integration pathways to make this ambitious vision a reality.
The FIWARE Global Summit provided a valuable platform for IDEATION to share its objectives not only with the extensive global FIWARE community but also to connect with local stakeholders and explore market opportunities within Morocco. This engagement fosters crucial connections and collaborations aimed at building smarter, more resilient water management systems worldwide.
The IDEATION project underscores the transformative potential of digital twin technology in addressing complex environmental challenges. By creating a holistic and interoperable digital model of inland waters, the initiative aims to significantly improve our understanding, management, and protection of these vital resources.
