IDEATION Showcased at the 4th Digital Ocean Forum in Brussels, Contributing to the Future of Europe’s Digital Ocean

The IDEATION project proudly participated in the 4th Digital Ocean Forum, held on 27-28 November in Brussels. The annual forum, organised by the European Commission, remains a cornerstone event in the co-development of the EU Digital Ocean – a flagship initiative aiming to build a seamless, interoperable, and data-rich digital ecosystem for Europe’s marine and freshwater environments.

Bringing together policymakers, scientists, innovators, and digital solution providers, the Forum provided an invaluable platform to discuss the next steps toward integrating advanced digital tools for ocean observation, modelling, and sustainable resource management.

During the event, Project Coordinator Eloisa Vargiu delivered an intervention highlighting IDEATION’s contribution to Europe’s digital water and ocean intelligence landscape. Her speech focused on:

  • the project’s role in advancing data-driven decision-making,
  • enabling cross-domain interoperability,
  • and supporting sustainable blue growth through innovative digital solutions.

Her participation aligned strongly with IDEATION’s mission to foster collaboration, harmonise water and ocean data architectures, and accelerate Europe’s transition toward more informed and resilient water systems.

IDEATION was also featured in the exhibition area with a dedicated project booth, offering participants an opportunity to learn more about ongoing developments, early results, and the project’s contributions to digital water innovation. The booth attracted a wide range of stakeholders eager to explore how IDEATION’s tools and methodologies can enhance Europe’s capacity to manage aquatic ecosystems more effectively.
