The first policy brief of the EU-funded IDEATION project is now published. Gathering 11 partners across Europe, IDEATION directly supports the objectives of the European Water Resilience Strategy, aiming to digitally integrate inland waters into the broader hydrosphere governance through the DTO.

Via a structured knowledge base called OpenKIWAS, IDEATION policy brief recommends:

• Extending the Digital Twin Ocean’s scope to inland waters.
• Creating interoperable data infrastructures linking river basins to coastal and marine systems.
• Embedding inland water modelling into EU water and climate strategies.
